Sam has been providing outstanding wealth management and financial planning advice to individual and business clients for 39 years. Prior to joining Paramax, Sam held various notable positions such as Managing Director at UBS Group Inc.; President of McDonald Investments, a Keycorp company; as well as heading up Essex Capital Markets, an Upstate NY Registered Investment Advisory (RIA)/Broker Dealer, which he sold to McDonald in 1998.
During his time as Managing Director at UBS, Sam was responsible for the NYS/Northern New England market, with over $200 million of revenue and $30 billion in client assets. Sam was one of the pioneers in UBS’s Business Transition Planning effort, helping them to become an industry leader in guiding business owners to effectively plan, and optimally sell their businesses. Sam helped negotiate the sale of McDonald to UBS in 2007, which proved to be the most successful acquisition and transition the industry had experienced to date.
Sam also has ownership interests in a number of private companies in the Upstate NY region, which provides him with valuable insight into the goals and objectives, as well as the daily challenges and opportunities, faced by business owners.
Sam is a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) and holds FINRA Series 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 24, 63, 65, 79, and SIE licenses. He is a graduate of Princeton University where he earned an AB degree in Economics.
