Dunn Tire’s Retail Tire & Service Business (referred to herein as “Dunn Tire”) (www.dunntire.com) is a leading tire retailer and AAA approved automotive service provider with 25 locations in New York and Pennsylvania. In addition to tire sales, alignments, and tire-related services, Dunn Tire provides parts and installations for brakes, front-end repairs, lube and oil services, and state vehicle inspections. Established in 1973, Dunn Tire is a Top 20 market share holder in the U.S. within the tire and automotive service retail category and was recently ranked by Tire Business as the 17th largest independent tire retailer in North America.
The buyer, Discount Tire (www.discounttire.com) is a leading independent retailer of tires, wheels, and windshield wipers. Founded in 1960, Discount Tire is the retail brand name of The Reinalt-Thomas Corporation, and the Company serves customers at more than 1,150 stores across 39 states. The Company does business as Discount Tire and America’s Tire and plans to continue operating the newly acquired locations under the Dunn Tire brand. In 2021, Discount Tire also acquired Tire Rack, a consumer-direct e-commerce retailer of tires, wheels, and accessories. In July 2022, Modern Tire Dealer ranked Discount Tire the second largest tire retailer in the U.S. based on total number of locations.
